Students from the Student Leadership Board got to represent GAP School and its YouthBuild program on March 3rd at Youth Day at the Capitol by spending the day at the Minnesota State Capitol building in Saint Paul.

You don't need expensive outings or fancy crafts to make spring break meaningful. Play therapy teaches us that simple, intentional play is one of the most powerful tools for connection and growth. When Paul B.’s two young daughters were attending Pillsbury Elementary in Northeast Minneapolis, the family was in a tough spot. GAP School’s YouthBuild program was selected for a grant by YouthBuild Global to run a Solar Panel Installation Training and Certification Pilot Program, in partnership with Menlo Academy in Minneapolis.

GAP School English Language Learner (ELL) students will once again write and develop a drama program throughout third quarter. The program will tell stories of the students’ lives before they came to America and what they have experienced. Each student will work to write their own story and together the group of students will combine the stories into a larger narrative. This project has been a tradition for many years and is one that both staff and students look forward to. T

On November 5th, 2026, we will gather again to celebrate the work of Change Inc., develop meaningful relationships, and, of course, raise funds for our important programming.

Change Inc. therapists Ana Lewis and Adalinda Sanchez joined KARE 11 on Sunday, February 1st, to talk about the impact of Operation Metro Surge on mental health among children. 

As of December 1, 2025, Change Inc. has adopted three programs from East Side Neighborhood Services (ESNS): Out-of-School Time programs (OST), Family Healing, and ASPIRE (Assisting Students & Parents In Resources and Engagement).
