About
Lisa Xiong, MA, LMFT, RPT, MN State Approved LMFT/LPCC Supervisor, oversees outpatient and school-based mental health as Change’s Inc.’s Clinical Director. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of Saint Mary’s and specializes in school-based mental health, individual & family therapy, and play therapy- using a developmental, culturally responsive and trauma-focused lens with clients and supervisees. Lisa has been with Change Inc. since 2010, starting out as an unlicensed practitioner still working toward licensure. She became a licensed and a clinical supervisor with the support of DHS Cultural Ethnic Minority Infrastructure Grant (CEMIG).
Inspired by her experience with CEMIG and the supports she received, Lisa does advocacy work around diversity, inclusivity, and equity within the Minnesota mental health field; focusing on workforce development for BIPOC/LGBTQ+ practitioners and hoping to remove systemic barriers towards licensure. She is a faculty member in Change Inc.’s Training Institute with expertise in supervision, play therapy, ethics, and culturally & linguistically appropriate services.
